Each year, United Way of East TN Highlands hosts a golf tournament fundraiser to support programs and community partnerships, with a mission to break the cycle of poverty in the community. This August, corporate teams and sponsors from across the region came together to take part in the annual tournament, presented by Carter County Bank.
Held at the Elizabethton Golf Course on a beautiful summer day, players were able to take part in a variety of contests and additional opportunities to showcase their skills. Kevin Cole, Owner of Dino’s Restaurant in Elizabethton, made the winning hole-in-one shot from 162 yards, claiming a prize worth $10,000. After celebrating the win, Cole generously donated his prize back to United Way. A hole-in-one win isn’t an everyday occurrence and United Way East TN Highlands is grateful for the investment in the community. The overall tournament winners were the team from Mapes Strings of Elizabethton.
