Johnson City, TN – November 17, 2021 – Today United Way of East TN Highlands announced that the 2022 Impact Grant Application is open and available to local nonprofits serving Washington, Carter, Johnson and/or Southern Sullivan Counties of Northeast Tennessee who have a focus in improving the health, education and/or financial stability of community members.

“It’s always an exciting time to be able to open our funding cycle up for the upcoming year. We know that many of the nonprofits in our community have seen an increase in the number of individuals and families who need the services they provide, and while we would love to be able to increase the amount of funds available, we can’t do it without increased support from our local individuals and businesses,” says Leslie Salling, President & CEO of United Way of East TN Highlands.

United Way of East TN Highlands currently supports more than 30 programs that serve those in need across Washington, Carter, Johnson and Southern Sullivan Counties. So far in 2021, those agencies have combined to improve more than 20,000 lives.

“Our partner agencies have done a great job working with individuals across our community this year. We know and understand the financial hardships that many of our community members have gone through over the past couple of years, and we hope that we will continue to have individuals and companies step up and support our community members who need it most,” says Abraham McIntyre, Community Impact Coordinator of United Way of East TN Highlands.
