2022 Campaign kickoff

Each year, the United Way of East TN Highlands hosts a Campaign Kickoff to bring our donors, volunteers, and business leaders around the community together. This year, we’re kicking things off in Downtown Johnson City with some of our favorite food trucks and a handful of vendors who are focused on self-care activities and products.

Welcome Home Project

As a part of this year’s Campaign Kickoff, we’ll also be hosting a volunteer event that will involve putting together baskets for families/individuals moving into a new home after experiencing homelessness or domestic violence. These baskets will be full of essential items that any of us need when moving into a new home, but tend to add up quickly when you’re starting out with very little, like cooking utensils, laundry & cleaning items.

If you’d like to show your support for the project beyond your volunteer time, baskets can be sponsored for $50 each. Our goal is to have 200 baskets sponsored so that we can provide this support to 200 families or individuals who are so close to being back on their feet.
